Overview

The Finance Coordinator is member of  AIT Worldwide Logistics Istanbul Team and responsible for the accounts payable, purchase invoices and preparing payments in his/her station and providing assistance to the Country Manager.

 

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for creating the financial statements in a correct and timely manner.

 

In addition to that, the Finance Coordinator supports the supervisor by providing reports and explanations to auditors, to authorities and to additional Stakeholders.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial figures, considering internal group and in conformity with the local (Turkish) rules and regulations and European integrity standards
  • Create organized records and files to assist in tax preparation
  • Responsible for working with internal departments as well as external partners
  • Monitors, records, analyzes and reports on all accounting & finance activities and provides reports and recommendations relating to these services
  • Responsible for reviewing and evaluating existing quality control procedures to include compliance with applicable local regulations / authorities
  • Maintain professional and proactive communication with all department staff, internal and external customers
  • Assess and coordinate internal and external resources to provide feasible and sustainable services to customers
  • Oversee all processes to ensure that all aspects of accounting & finance activities are performed as per company standards
  • Safeguard QHSE compliance within his/her area of responsibility and contribute to the ongoing development of the QHSE policy
  • Compliance with all rules, laws and regulations and safeguard the required operating licenses and permits for the branch Istanbul
  • Provide assistance to the Country Manager where needed on day-to-day level
  • Support in further development of existing processes and systems
  • Function as contact for auditors as well as tax consultants in accounting issues
  • Support in participation in the implementation and realization of internal accounting rules and processes
  • Assumption of cross-team and cross-departmental project work
  • Support of Intercompany posting and balancing
  • VAT Declaration and VAT Reporting

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS degree as a certified accountant or a similarly well-founded commercial training or a degree in business administration
  • Relevant professional experience in a comparable field desirable, especially in the preparation of financial statements
  • Good knowledge and interest in international accounting and the corresponding standards
  • Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred
  • Knowledge of CargoWise One desirable
  • Fluent oral and written English is a must
  • Additional (major) European languages would be an asset
  • Independent, analytical and reliable way of working as well as motivation and pleasure in working in a team
  • Confident appearance and good communication skills
